Thanks for checking things out here.
This is where you will find what’s happening in my life…that’s right, it’s all about me.
That way, if you run into me at the grocery store or at the post office and ask me “Hey, how’s it goin’? What ya been up to lately, huh?”. I can say, “Just check out my website.” and then we can both silently walk away and go about our business…isn’t that just easier for everyone concerned? Yeah, you’re welcome.
It all starts in September, and from that time forward, this will be my home base. This is the place to find out if I’m doing anything interesting, appearing anywhere or if I’ve gone in to one of my periodic funks where I’ve shutdown and find myself in the fetal position in my living room. That happens sometimes even if I’m in a good mood.
So, stay tuned. I’ve contacted some people I’ve known over the years to be on some podcasts. I tried podcasting about four years ago when it first started becoming a thing, then I stopped after a couple of months, because I really didn’t have a clue about what I was doing.
Then, I got a job at the local PBS station (WNIT, South Bend, IN) and ended up doing around 2500 guest interviews over 750 episodes of Experience Michiana. I continue to hang my hat there once a week, and I do radio news every morning Monday-Friday on 95.3 MNC, Michiana’s News Channel. It’s Michiana’s Morning News with Mark McGill, but I’m the guy reading the news. I’m also the one wearing pants…I’ll let McGill speak for himself as far as that goes.
So, enough time has passed since I did any podcasts and podcasting has come a long, long way in the interim, and now I have a better idea of the direction I’d like it to go with.
I’m going to focus on having casual conversations with some people I know in the business, some of which I’ve talked to on the PBS show, but a lot of them will be others I’ve known a long time that haven’t appeared on that show or maybe anywhere. People from on-air TV and radio, musicians, artists, writers, producers, comedians…you know, the creative types-rouges and troublemakers that they are.
So, I’m very glad you’ve stopped by to check things out and I’ll be talking to you soon. Like I said…September.
Please stand by,
